Well, I hit the last day of an estate sale today and cleaned up on Westmorland milk glass (market) The picture shows only a few of the 10 or so pieces I got. Grape design. All for $35
Got the Black Dragon Saki set for $8 The lithophane on the cups is a naked woman kneeling down eating grapes! I had only ever seen Geisha Girls before.

Got the Staffordshire cow cream pitcher for $2. It is fully marked.

Also got a huge load of incandescent light bulbs. 10 boxes of 5 bulbs , 1 box of 16 bulbs, one 8 pack of GE soft white. All for $11

I'm considering running them on eBay again. Remember months ago, they pulled my auction for light bulbs as prohibited items. But I see several listed right now. and at $10 a bulb it's tempting. I have looked at the current auctions and think I know how they Tod.jpg tod1.jpg tod2.jpg Tod.jpg tod1.jpg tod2.jpg got around being caught by the AI Bots.

I'd be careful with the lightbulbs. If eBay already bounced you for lightbulbs once they may not be happy that you're trying them again. There's no rhyme nor reason to why eBay bans some items but allows other identical items to run. It frustrates quite a few sellers. I've heard that sometimes changing the category or avoiding certain trigger words in the title can help. Get clues from the sold listings. Love the dragonware set!

Wow, just found out an ebay or other seller can be fined $2500.00 for selling an incandescent bulb (some exemptions) to someone in California - below is from AI but seems to be on target - but verify the below before relying on it

Under California Title 20, retailers, manufacturers, and distributors can face administrative civil penalties of up to $2,500 per unit for selling or offering non-compliant light bulbs for sale in the state. [1, 2]
These regulations are part of the California Energy Commission (CEC) Appliance Efficiency Program, which enforces strict energy efficiency standards for "General Service Lamps". [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Details of Title 20 Enforcement
    • Per-Unit Fines: While the statutory maximum is $2,500 per violation (per bulb), the CEC often considers factors like the seriousness of the violation and efforts to correct it when determining the final penalty.
    • Broad Compliance Requirement: Any person in the sales chain—including out-of-state online retailers—is responsible for ensuring bulbs are listed in the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS) before selling them to California consumers.
    • Efficacy Standards: Most standard incandescent bulbs are banned because they fail to meet the minimum requirement of 45 lumens per watt (LPW). Typical incandescents only produce 15 to 20 LPW.
    • Exemptions: Certain specialty bulbs, such as appliance bulbs (for ovens or refrigerators) and some decorative lamps, remain exempt from these specific Title 20 restrictions. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
Because of the high potential for automated enforcement and heavy fines, many online marketplaces and individual sellers use shipping restrictions to prevent any non-compliant lighting products from being delivered to California addresses

Clues from sold listings is good but in my experience sometimes it comes to down to speed. It typically takes them a day to a week in my experience to pull down listings. So if your item is in demand and priced to sell that can help beat the clock. I’ve had items pulled even after a sale had gone through but they allowed me to ship it still. Just deleted the listing from their history logs. Choosing the right keywords can sometimes buy you time but many times they’ll get you eventually. I used to try to play those games to beat the system but I’d be devastated by a full ban so I rarely do anymore. Even when I’m generally trying to behave I get an item pulled now and then. You’re absolutely correct though. It’s when you try multiple times on the same item that you’re more likely to suffer their wrath. One time they’ll look the other way and just pull your item. Twice you might get a stern warning. Three times you might be out altogether. Many years ago I tried multiple times to get an Alaskan carved Billiken listed and eventually got a very no nonsense letter from an actual person in their department that handles that type of thing. I stopped trying. I had purchased a lot of them at auction for a pretty big number relatively speaking. Now I just own a collection.
