Featured Proof reading is essential when creating listings with voice apps.

I watch a lot of online auctions and have found that quite a few are posting crazy titles on items because they're using voice recognition (or whatever they call it nowadays) to create the titles.

Here's an example:

That one wasn't too hard to figure out what they meant. But, I came across one for a jardiniere stand that had "Russian Koolaid" as part of the title. It took me a little searching with the picture to figure out it was actually "Brush McCoy".

And I know the people creating these listings. They don't have accents (other than Eastern Shoreman or Lower Slower Delawarean) and they speak clearly when I've interacted with them. So, it must that be the app just isn't reliable.

A friend of mine uses one of those voice to text apps on his phone. But he speaks with a broad accent, close to dialect, so he has to repeat what he says several times before he gets a result that is close enough. He still insists on using it, even though it is more work than just typing a text.

Yes I use voice to text to post my auctions because I use my phone to post auctions. I try to proofread my titles and descriptions as I go. I pretty much know what words it will mess up now, so I always proofread as I go. After I post I will go to the computer and review what posted and correct any errors I find. I'm a 1 finger texter so without voice to text it would take forever to post an auction!

 

To make things worse: you can select various languages on this site, but the text has been translated by Google Translate, or by translators who didn't receive any context.... 'Lead' has been translated as a verb, and 'watch' (where you can mark it as an interesting item) is now the timepiece variant in Dutch

 

Oh dear. The Marching Morons are on the move. This is one reason I insist on typing with my fingers. Besides, if I'm tired, MS mushmouth can happen.
