    Ditto- I think the small 'serifs' (tiny 'tails' or flourishes at the end of each IBM letter) and the period btw each character- say to me anyway, pre 1947.
    PS- But,what the heck does DINK mean ?
    PSS- You could a small Library with variations of the THINK sign !:woot:

    These were popular IBM desk pieces for quite a while. IBM had a large campus in the town where I live, lots of people I knew worked there so these desk plaques used to show up now and then at local garage sales. I've actually sold two of them over the years, and they do very well!

    This is a desk one versus a wall plaque. I've never found a wall plaque. The faux wood grain to me almost suggests 60s/70s but I suppose could be earlier. Here is one with the same label on the back.

    Nice find! I "THINK" they are very cool! A keeper!

    I asked a friend who has an impressive background in graphic design for his thoughts and he replied:

    "Well, I was thinking it was pre-Paul Rand's design since he wouldn't have used such an awkward typeface [referring to the one on your desk plaque] so that would be before 1956 or so. So if you buy that it's probably post-1947 [the date of the company's name change] that would date it to 1948 or 1949."

    Here's information on the design work Paul Rand did for IBM.

    Paul Rand was one of Graphic Designs true greats. Here's a group of students standing in front the Endicott IBM School-look at that Pre-War industrial architectural grandeur ! I'd love to have that facade (prob bronze).
    PS- There was some bold confident design back then.

    Here's a 1940 shot of the IBM Campus in Endicott, NY- the company has closed this site. In the mid-1980s, IBM employed approximately 15,000-18,000 people in the Endicott, and New York area.
    Not sure how large the company's U.S. employee and manufacturing footprint is in 2026 ?
    @Lucille.b do/did you live in Endicott ?

    No, Boulder, CO. IBM was a major employer here for years. They had a large campus east of town. Mostly closed at this point though.

    Been intrigued by Boulder since 'The Stand',hearing it was Berkley of the Rockies and it's near Estes Park (The Stanley).
