    Lens shows silver with turquoise and coral rings, but based on the crude finish (including a mix of blue and red in the middle, I assume this is just a (non-magnetic) metal with a paste, right?

    Chip inlay,needs a real test for sterling.A magnet only tells you if the metal is ferrous or not.

    I have a hunch the ring isn't silver The inlay when done like that is usually crushed shell set in dyed resin. The settings are almost always costume. The pin is screaming later 1980s.

    Another vote for 1980s for the brooch. Could polish up nicely and look good on a lapel.

    No paste, chip inlay and have the metal tested, as Holly said. The chips could be dyed stone chips, or could be resin chips set in resin.
