I bought this duo in a mixed auction lot. The cup is 10cm wide at the rim and 5cm tall. The saucer is 14.2cm diameter.

It’s hard paste porcelain . Well painted and heavily gilded. The mark looks like a fake Sevres mark.

An unusual feature is the application of white raised enamel on both pieces (a bit like Japanese moriage ).

I am stumped by this one.

    Any ideas? IMG_7255.jpeg IMG_7276.jpeg IMG_7277.jpeg IMG_7280.jpeg IMG_7282.jpeg IMG_7281.jpeg

Absent the marks I would have guessed Japanese. I'm not aware of any Japan products with fake Sevres marks though.

There's a stumper. I've not seen that particular fake Sevres mark before. I don't think Japanese, but with that bit of raised decoration, I can see why it might be. Huh.

To me it looks like a fusion of Japanese and European. Maybe Samson or a similiar company. Their work in an oriental style with moriage frequently confuses me. it might help explain the mark.
