Bought this cat online, thinking it would be a small figurine... but it's 30 cm :D

I can't find another one like this online. With Google Lens, I'm only finding the one I bought (Dutch site), and totally different cats (or other red animal figurines).
The only Vallauris cat I can find, is a black one, with asking prices of over 1000 EUR :wideyed:
Does this fit in the Vallauris dross category? Or is this a bit more special?

Don't we wish..those of us with death wish. Pallas's cats are fluffy balls of instant murderous mayhem.

Yes, Pallas's cats are long-haired, short-legged and not red. This is meant to be a European domestic cat. Either of the ginger variety or simply painted in typical Vallauris colours.
It is a charming cat figurine.:cat:
    What is Vallauris dross?
It isn't signed, so not special as such. In Vallauris the streets are still lined with ceramics sellers, and most of it is nice, like your cat.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

There is another, completely different, Vallauris cat currently listed on US eBay.

Do you remember how to get the eBay links to work, now that they have been messed up?

A well known name, and some of their wares are sought after.
But the seller may have thought it said ECHIDNA VALLAURIS and didn't know a maker by that name.:bucktooth:

I've never seen a ceramic echidna. Stuffies yes, ceramic no. They're hopelessly cute.

    Yes, they are very cute.
Here is one that climbed higher than a real echidna ever would:

Less realistic but the cutest things ever:

Now I want one - ceramic anyway.(LOL) He's the hedgehog's bigger brother. I have a glass hedgehog Christmas ornament. Did I need another one? No, but it was too cute to leave behind.
