Featured Gropello C/G Amphora

    Signed on the bottom. Not sure if that's a C or a G at the end.

    I could only find this piece

    Does anyone here recognize that mark?

    No, but I like the glaze on yours. Not so much on the other.

    I also see it as 'G'. The monogram looks to me like 'C' is the primary letter, with 'A' & possibly 'D'?

    When I see something like this skinny amphora I can only think how easily a cat could knock it over, & how only the lid would survive to tell the tale.

    In this case it's the lid that's damaged. Nothing too dramatic. Part of the cork broke off, and is stuck in the neck.
