The mesh coin purse is easy to find online (but I can't see if it's old/vintage/repro), but I haven't been able to find one like the round purse. Lens shows me sovereign coin cases, compacts, pill boxes etc.

Are they made of some sort of plastic? Early 20th c? I remember my grandmother having a "coin purse."

According to the internet, many similar carvings of the same period are celluloid, an early plastic.

In Erbach they used to carve them from ivory, bone, or celluloid, depending on the price retailers were willing to pay. Labour was still cheap at the time.

That makes sense. Different quality for different price points.
