Featured Army Mess Pottery

    Mug, sugar bowl and creamer. Probably acquired at a garage sale. They have a medical insignia - maybe Hawkeye used them. ;) Can't remember what was paid, I just like them as an interesting collectible. All have different backstamps. Just sharing.

    Cool. If they were Korean War era, it's likely they were left over from WWII.

    One is dated 1951 - well after WW2 but during the Korean Conflict (1950-53).

    I have this medical department coffee cup that I use daily. It's thick, so I believe it may be earlier. What I love about it is that I can pour hot coffee in a cold cup, and immediately sip. The cup cools the coffee just enough, and the cup warms and retains the heat, so a cup of coffee doesn't get cold right away. Thermal inertia, I think it's called. It was worth every penny of the $10 I gave for it.
