The previous owner of the house my parents bought left a ton of antique lamps, bulbs, chandeliers, etc.. about 60-70 in total. I have managed to organize a gallery of pictures of what is here, but I am a little clueless on what their actual worth is, or how to go about selling them. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated. Thanks all!

Wow.. I will be curious to see if my godmother's MCM lamp will be in the lineup.

If you can identify your items, a good place to start is by reviewing eBay's "Completed items" listings. (If you don't know how to do this on the site, let us know and we can direct you.) If you can't identify what you have, you'll want to post photographs here and our members will help you do so.

Several years back I went to an auction that was selling the contents of a dealer who specialized in all manner of lighting. There were boxes full of assorted prisms, bulbs, as well as various pieces & parts to old kerosene style lamps.

There is definitely a market for this types of items. People are always looking for the original items to complete their lamps.

Searching online using any information marked on the pieces or the boxes.

If the piece is not marked, a quick Google photo search will often help you identify the item.

We have several members here who are very knowledgeable regarding vintage & antique lighting items. So good clear photos of the items & any marks on the item posted on this forum may be able to help.

These 2 threads may be of help to you if you do decide to post questions.

If you do decide to post some items it might be best to start another thread with a brief description of what you need help with in the title.

Thank you. I can get pretty close when identifying some of the pieces, but some also have a little damage, corrosion on the brass pieces, faded designs, etc... it seems to be a lot of Stiffel Lamps, Regency Hotel, Falkenstein Bulbs, and then quite a few that seem to sit outside of those that are similar in design to what I see on Google, but vary a lot in values.

I was thinking of setting up a gallery with the photo inventory I've taken and having a link to it. All the photos I have seem to be over the upload limit for here.

I am hoping to find ways to sell multiple pieces, because individually it would take months to sell them all.

find an auction in your area that handles lamps .

mail the photo's to yourself at a lower size.

We don't do values here , there are just too many variables..

what he said. This is an interntional group, and even within one country values vary by region. Condition is hard to evaluate from a photo too. It's a good way to find a place to start, but once IDs are made that's where the work begins.

A bit of a daunting task, isn't it? Why don't you post a photograph of a good example here so we have a better idea of what you're facing.

I think I was able to resize one of the photos from before sorting. Hopefully it was able to upload. It's about 25% of what was left here.

And I really didn't come here looking to sell, but mainly gather information on the best way to move forward selling some of these. It's a bit overwhelming, and I figured a community centered around antiques would at least be a start. Haha

I'm not seeing antique in this photo. Some vintage. No original shades? Do you sell on eBay? Where are the lamps located? (I ask because this is an international forum.) What are you local selling options?

I'm not sure those I'm seeing have much value (apart from the MCM one) and most look 1980s to my eye. Do know that pairs are more desirable than signals and it's always best to have the original shade even if the condition isn't good.

I'm going to suggest you post a series of group photographs (like the one above) on individual threads, one at a time, and we can help you sort the wheat from the chaff. That way you'll know what's yard sale vs. what's auction house. But do let's wait and see if anyone else agrees with that idea or has a better one. Lots of savvy people here.

These appear to be lamp bases. Do you have the missing bits? Here's a similar complete. (eBay item # 315240785993)

There are a lot of random lamp parts in boxes. And there are a few which have pairs, though some are just the designed piece without bases or fixtures. As far as lamp shades, there's about 15 or 20.. but I couldn't tell you which goes with which lamp. I've been using Google Lens mostly for identifying, and I misspoke on antiques vs vintage. Very new to this.

These are based on Chinese ginger jars. Hard to tell how old they are as a classic design. The other appears to be older. The cords would give a helpful clue as would any markings.
