French Ebay, I was the only bidder on this big (5cm or 2", 15 grams) cicada!

The seller said "tested for gold by a jeweller"... that dumbass even not noticed the horse head hallmark on the pin... and rubbed the sharp point of the needle

Seller didn't described the signature GUIRAUD struck on back of each wing!
Halas, neither described the lack of the C clasp!
I couldn't see that due to reflects in the pic...




But very pleased with my buy, I kyratised the C clasp with a gold open ring I had, held in place with UV curing resin further gilt with rub'nbuff

 

Another brilliant catch & fix by the French miracle worker. You must be buzzing with happiness.

 

It is a beautiful pin, and you are talented!

The seller should have mentioned the broken C-clasp of course. But on the other hand, broken C-clasp? Come on, of course our kyra can handle a simple broken C-clasp!

My guess is Provence, where they wear cicada brooches on the fichu of the costume.
