Hi Bronwen, this belongs to my friend - would this be new? Marked 10K and some other mark that I can't make out from the photo, my friend can't read what it says. I've been looking on-line and see others, most say made in Italy. this is about 1/2" x 1/2". I've never seen one before but now see lots of blue ones, some very neat ones with cat faces on them

 

Yes, they are cut ultrasonically, so, while genuinely hardstone, essentially mass produced. I used to have a white Persian cat & have been highly tempted by that one. Have managed to resist thus far.
