Featured Guidance on carved wooden pillars

Hi there me and my partner have recently acquired these stunning carved solid wooden pillars and would like some guidance on what they would be worth. There are 4 x 7ft by 1 ft columns and 3 x 3ft by 1ft pillars.

Anything about them would also be of interest.

 

What do you know about them so far? Where did you get them (location)? Any idea about the kind of wood? It’s a lot more productive for everyone to start with and share what you know rather than just asking open ended.

 

@Stephen hutchinson, we don't do values here because of all the variables (e.g. age, location, condition). There are a number of these on offer on the internet which might give you some directional value. A Google Images search will bring them up. Here's one example. I have my doubts about these being antique Italian as purported in the one listing. I am seeing several in the marketplace and you have multiples in 2 sizes. I am thinking modern import from Indonesia, India, or other Southeast Asian country. Would still have decent value but not wildly so. As an example, I used to import wood column pedestals from Indonesia in the 90s. They retailed at around $300 in my upscale furniture store. Your large ones are larger than what I had. Your small ones are smaller. You also need to take into account inflation to now, but also that the secondary market is not the same as retail. I know this is not an exact answer, but there are too many variables involved to be exact.

 

I do agree. They don't have the exuberance and finesse that I'd expect from older, Italian carving. And that they're polychromed rather than gilded makes me suspect decorative rather than architectural.

My first reaction was "India" but Indonesian plaster and paint over wood aiming at looking "antiqued" could be dead on.
