Hi all! I don’t want to run a-fowl here, but I am goosing maybe someone here might know what this mallard might have been used for, it’s approx age, if known? And I’m guessing this ducky is Japanese due to the style and the hand-blown glass eyes (I have a few other vintage Japanese ceramic duck busts), but please Correct me if I am wrong.

there appears to be a newish looking plastic cork/stop on the bottom , and where once was a sticker, only grody sticker remnants...er...remain. D83A170F-6ADE-43D7-9FC7-530A46155F15.jpeg 97B148FD-93E9-46E2-85DB-628775B20561.jpeg 05B7A081-698F-4467-B8C4-A82C301ED226.jpeg

If you take out the stopper, is there a smell inside?

It's a mini spirit decanter. Sold with a liquor in it, and a stick on label or two. Beswick did them, amongst others.

You never mentioned how big it is. And I would not think you'de want to pry the plug out every time you'd want a "snort". If the head is smaller you maybe missing a body as like this for just an example.

Or maybe the "plug" allows it to be filled with sand or something similar, so it can be used as a bookend - or something like that?

I've seen and owned mini decanters which were all one piece with just a base stopper.
