Featured Antique Sewing Box

I wasn't sure which forum to put this in. It appears to be a sewing box? with hinged sides. The interesting part is the Gold Dust Twins printing that is on the inside and bottom of the box. I'm trying to price this and could use some help. Maybe it isn't even a sewing box. Thanks!

 

I think it's homemade, with materials on hand. I think you could call it make-do or folk art. Very appealing.

 

Some handy person with a spare Gold Dust crate made this for his mom or wife, I suspect. Could even have been made for himself - the construction reminds me of tackle box.

 

It looks like he was a good craftsman, too. The dovetail joints look perfect.

 

Hmmm...


I'd love to have this for carrying paints and brushes!

It looks like it may have been used for paints and brushes. If you look at the left side of the top compartment, it looks like smeared paint. Someone with paint on their hands opening it up from that spot.
