Featured Found a Gem of a Typewriter

    A Blickensderfer Featherweight from 1915 ~ a revolutionary and scarce machine. Aluminum body, barrel type shuttle rotates forward to strike paper with the proper letter (just like a IBM Selectric did 50 years later). Considered by many to be the Worlds first true portable. It was totally frozen, but after a laborious cleaning & lubing . . it's working !

    What an interesting construction. Almost looks like a Rube Goldberg invention.

    Always intrigued by Industrial Revolution mechanical objects, I was was familiar with these and was thrilled to find one through a friend. Here's an artistic photo of one . . rather sci-fi looking !

    Love the hand holding it up in the ad too-- looks like it's serving up a plate of spaghetti.
