    Someone please compare the "Helene Thompson" written on the painting's back with the artist's signature on the floral prints. Look very close to my eye.

    The 'e' isn't the same, but the 'n' looks similar.

    the h hides under the T...and the P is a straight line , rising above a small backwards c......

    that's what I see..

    Those signatures are separated by at least 30+ years. The first, an artist's signature on a late 1940s print, and the second, scrawled in marker on the back of a painting that was framed in 1983 (the year Searle's opened) or later. They're both printed and to my eye not inconsistent.
