I'm in a argument with my girlfriend - I think this is art & she thinks it's … not.
First, what is it made from? It feels as strong as metal/steel, but it reminds me of what old computer circuit boards look like?
Finally - this is art, right? (say yes, say yes - a dinner is riding on this!)
    Thanks all.

I'd say decor, which is sometimes art, sometimes not. Split the dinner. :)

A Día de los Muertos skull, a decorative item often seen as part of the decor in Mexican restaurants. Here's a branded example.

Looks like mass produced décor to me.

Mexican Day of the Dead decor.
Dia de los Muertos as Debora said.

Not mass produced - cut or carved? and the little "legs" welded to back; 1 to hang it from & the other 2 to keep it light sockets the wall.

Mass produced in the sense that it's not a unique piece. Likely done in multiples.

Debora is correct. It is Dia de los Muertos. Could be a souvenir from Mexico or anyplace in California that celebrates it.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

So, @journeymagazine , what did you and your girlfriend decide about the dinner? :)
