This is 8" long, ~2 1/4" wide, of ~7/16" half-round brass stock; weight is ~6.2 oz. About 5" of radius at the top have been machined away to create appropriate springiness. The mark is dead center inside, at the spring. It is very comfortable in hand, an' apparently made for use on molded or formed cubed or other regularly shaped ice.
Beautifully elegant in its simplicity, it really embodies MCM design, imo. Mostly just a show n tell...Thanks for lookin'!

Gio Ponti was best known as an architect. This building in my town, for department store 'de Bijenkorf' (the Beehive), is also by him:

He took part of his inspiration from the name of the store, as you can see from the honeycomb motifs.

That triggered me to dig deeper, Debora...an' in summary I'll list it soon on eBay. Thanks for the nudge!
Pristine condition, well marked, original box marked for export individually, so not part of the 5-tool bar set that PM Italy made, which contained one of these tongs.
I have no recollection of when or where I acquired this piece, but wouldn't have paid much for it. Results right here after the listing sells!
