Does anyone else miss the old tick-tock and chime sounds of old clocks? I truly feel like they bring a peaceful, calming mood with them.

I have a Sessions clock that came to our family in 1918, and I still run it on holidays. I had it worked on in 2004. In my previous home it ran daily and kept great time.

I grew up in a home with a Seth Thomas electric mantel clock with chimes, and I still have it.

Anyone else miss the atmosphere they generate?

I have 6 clocks in my lounge.
    Non tick nor chime.

I can't stand ticking or chiming clocks.

My Dad had a long case clock in his lounge, if the 12 noon news came on the TV or radio you could not hear it because of the 12 ding dong chimes.

My son got the clock after my Dad died and he was welcome to it.

The last time I was there I noted he had put dampers on the hammers:D

Note, if you have a mechanical watch, the quieter the tick usually indicates a better quality watch for example Timex v Rolex
