Featured Misc & Incidental Pins an' Other Odd Things

    These were all with the 4 military? items earlier posted. A few of these appear military, but this is a safe place to offer them, not knowing any more than I do. Some enamel, some incomplete, one looks commercial. What do y'all see here? Thanks for lookin'!

    The Buffs is the Royal East Kent Infantry Regiment.

    Called the Buffs because of the creamy buff-coloured leather accoutrements and uniform linings.

    The RNTS star is a Royal Naval Temperance Society membership abstinence medal.

    Makes a mockery of the RN daily rum ration.
    The rum ration existed for 300 years until 1970.

    The round piece is half of a belt buckle. The blue enameled rectangle almost has to be military insignia, just don't ask me whose. The silvertone (gryphon head?) looks like it was cotter pinned onto a hat or similar. Likely insingia of some sort too.

    That's a reach for me...but all I've ever seen of the Phoenix bird has been impressions by others who haven't ever seen one either. So, yeah...I suppose!
