Featured Rabbit mask

Hi All,
For now this is the only photo I have of this wooden mask. I'm posting for a friend. Can anyone help with some information, please? Thank you for looking.

 

Definitely need more photos - at least a profile and back side. Also, all of the regular information such as size, where they got it and what they may have been told about it.

Based on the patina and the holes along the bottom edge, it might be from Africa (there are savanna hares in much of Africa). But I would like more views and information.

Thank you for the additional views. Now that I can see the whole shape, I do think it is from West Africa, and may be from the Bamana or a related group in southern Mali. An interesting piece.

My immediate thought on seeing the initial photo was aLao African. Subsequent comments and photos, still African. It is very cool!
