Watched him recently ‘singing’ Enter Sandman with his heavy metal band, they’ve got some rude name I can’t remember. I admire his energy at 90 odd years old, wish I had the same.

 

You have to give him props for staying power.

 

He just talks rather than singing. Band name is The *uckers..

 

Just learned the Beatles album is a promo copy!!

 

Too bad he didn't opt for the Kackers, but only those who know some Yiddish would understand. Same word, different language.

This is another one of my unusual DeVilbiss finds I have collected along the way.

Anyone who has ever seen an original 1926 DeVilbiss catalog is familiar with this image. A beautiful young women sitting in the glow from a c.1926 "Golden Birdcage" BQ-4 Perfume Light.

It is one of 3 illustrations that were included in the catalog. All 3 illustrations were done by Bradshaw Crandell (1896 -1966). He was an American artist & illustrator who was well known for doing portraits of many of the Hollywood stars of that same time frame.

This particular piece is actually a page from the "Stubbs Company Color Offset Advertising" magazine. This company produced the 1926 DeVilbiss catalog. The company had locations in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland & New York.

On the other side of the page there is a vivid description of the catalog itself, entitled "Symposium of Art and Beauty". There is also a portion of a letter sent to the DeVilbiss Co. by a customer who was extremely impressed by the catalog.

To the left towards the bottom of the page there is a drawing of 3 more DeVilbiss pieces from the catalog; a DK-16 dauber bottle, a N-15 atomizer & a BL-13 Imperial Hanging Hearts perfume lamp.

It measures 11 5/8" by 8 1/4".

I have it in one of those frames that is glass on both sides. It sits atop one of my Barrister bookcases on the other side of my desk, propped on a wooden easel. I see it every time I look up from my computer towards the TV that is on an adjacent wall.
