By accident, I got a set of 4 AH Soreno small bowls that due to some freak of antiques are selling for the outrageous price of $20 each on eBay. But it's AH glass so it's not the best quality as it was made to be affordable. All 4 bowls have what looks like streaks in the bottom, but they're not scrapes, they're part of the glass. I suspect a manufacturing flaw but I'm at a loss as to what and how to describe it. I re-read my listing and I wrote that there is some "marring" in the glass. Did I make that word up? Should I keep it?

Here's photos. See the streaks? What do you think? TY

Yep-I see the streaks and it reminds me of mineralization- the kind I see on excavated antique bottles. You could also try the terms 'classic Anchor Hocking factory mold stretch marks' or 'typical Anchor Hocking glass mold striations'.
    Why the price?
Poss answer-our grandkids didn't experience the 'battle-ship' level quality of manufacture we did as children, and even when these were made in the late 60's quality was falling-hence they see this **** as exotic (?).
Think it also has to do w/ MCM 'Granny Chic' (Grandmacore-YUK).
They look back on that era not as assassinations, riots,Vietnam, but as a Brady Bunch paradise of 10k houses and 2K cars-and ignore the $1.65 min wage most of Us made.

Whole lots changed in the last decade and a half buyer-wise. A fair amount of potential clients were 10 last time I sold !

Thanks, bosko! Excellent advice. I won't be asking what other Ebay sellers are, but I think if they're that desirable, someone will be happy to pay a lot less and get very usable bowls that still look good. I was thinking another culprit might be the dishwasher, except that the streaks are just on the bottom.

Does look like etching from a dishwasher.

I will be listing these tonight and I stated that the streaking was likely dishwasher related. I am asking 25% of what they would bring if not streaked. Darn dishwashers! Considered sending the to the thrift, but the regular price is so high, I thought someone might appreciate these.

I hear ya! Glowy glass (uranium) is popular again. It has gone up and down several times since I started selling glassware. Now it's way up. Just got back from a tag sale empty handed. She has a pretty piece of Jenkins Glass for $80 (at least it is pretty) and still there at that price. The most astonishing thing was a piece of Fenton Lime Green Satin Glass, a compote, that I couldn't give away, for $70!!! Even at half, I wouldn't touch it. It's this one. I've seen some insane up and downs in uranium glass but this is the most insane. Smells of TicToc. Wait 'til they hear about Watermelon glass!
