Scored this piece cheap last weekend-what do You all think...good,bad or indifferent ? At the end of 7 or 8 hours of picking my brain gets mushy, I like the composition brushwork and I think it could be by a Pro, but who knows. Image 9" x 7 3/4",frame looks 60's-70-'s. The other piece I bought with it is on Grumbacher Canvas Board that dates from '63 to mid-70's. They're both done in oils. PS-Million dollar question-who's signature ? Thanks as allways !
Yep-the daisy motif's dead on for the era.Davey-didn't see 'Scott' at all but think it's closer than mine ('Scroff','Scull'). Just can't pass these million to one shots when I spy em dirt cheap. PS- Really 99% of the ID'ed signed pieces are under a $100 amateurs. To break a grand on a piece's like a little powerball- but still a kick !
@Antiquefab I think you might have nailed it-how the heck did you find it ? Our Members are amazing ! Her style changed massively over the years-from 50's cuboid abstraction to 60's upbeat cute 'daisies' finally into some quite good Cezanne-inspired landscapes. PSS- Both pieces have the same exact frame construction, bottom piece could be one of her 'cutesy' works ?
