Hi. I am a goldsmith in Japan.
Found this at a flea market in Florence.

Seems to be a very old silk line engraver for jewelry making.
Anybody have idea which brand or what background this tool has?
One side has a "24Ⅸ" engraved.
Other side has some kind of carving that looks like arabic characters??

I am very curious and fond about tools and would like to know its background. Any piece of info is appriciated.Thanks.

Looks a bit like a broken part of a doorknob set.
