Found two lovely pieces in a Scottish charity shop today designed by Clarice Cliff and George Logan respectively, I haven’t been able to find the Clarice Cliff design anywhere on my internet browsing

    - I googled: "clarice cliff" "newport pottery co" "mcinnes"

    - Google AI answers: The most direct historical and creative connection involves the 2021 biographical film The Colour Room, which tells the story of Clarice Cliff’s rise from a working-class factory girl to an art director at A.J. Wilkinson’s Newport Pottery. The original story and screenplay for the movie were written by Craig McInnes.

    - I google: The Colour Room" Screenplay (Craig McInnes)

    - Google AI answers: To clarify a common point of confusion, Craig McInnes is not the screenwriter of the film The Colour Room.

    It came back as Chestnut

Don't know if that is true but its the nearest I could find, but I can't find similar.

This item is an authentic vintage Clarice Cliff "Chestnut" pattern plate, manufactured by the Newport Pottery Co. in Staffordshire, England, dating from the late 1930s (circa 1937).

    ️ Design Overview
    • Pattern: "Chestnut" (frequently referred to by collectors as Chestnut Leaves). It features prominent, relief-molded (embossed) overlapping autumn leaves finished in rich brown and green tones, with a stylized woody stem forming a decorative border accent.
    • Style: Late Art Deco / Naturalistic range. During the mid-to-late 1930s, Clarice Cliff moved toward more textured, relief-molded dinnerware designs (like Celtic Harvest, My Garden, and Chestnut) following her hyper-geometric Bizarre phase.
    • Body/Glaze: Thick earthenware body with a matte, pale pinkish-cream slip ground.

That chestnut was also the nearest I could find. But I can't find any plates with that pattern.
I wonder if McInnes did find one ... and repainted it...

You can find more items by searching Newport Pottery Chestnut--no plates, though.
