    Happy New Year everyone !

I need a little help - please- with these two... they both test as sterling. The earrings are marked S92 or S97? and I think the bracelet is porcelain/ceramic... but besides that, I'm clueless and I couldn't find anything similar online .. anything helps. Thank you ! :)

    Earrings look Tibetan or similar.

Did you realise the second bracelet is Cancer the Zodiac sign? First probably says peace, health, long life, that sort of thing.

Love the earrings Xristina. My guess is Slavic Balkans, the S92 mark is found a lot on vintage Bulgarian jewellery, as are those blue glass cabs. The style is influenced by styles from the Mediterranean Middle East.
The Ottomans transported styles throughout their empire, and certain Balkan motifs and techniques can be found in the Middle East, and vice versa. Which is why jewellery from parts of the Balkans can look Asian.
Because of the style 'fluidity' the origin can be difficult to pinpoint, but lantern earrings are more a southeastern European thing. They can be found in Bulgaria, Bosnia, Albania etc., and even in the Albanese influenced part of southern Italy.

The pretty silver and ceramic bracelet looks Chinese to me. Asian Fever doesn't seem to be around, maybe @Silver Wolf can read the script.:) It is bound to be something auspicious.

My sign is not Cancer, but I love crabs as an artistic motif. Too bad these are on the underside of the bracelet & not alternated with the good luck/health/fortune panels on the top.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I love the earrings, too. @Any Jewelry 's information continues to increase both my knowledge and interests!

Thank you so-so much, everybody !
Maybe I was subconsciously attracted to the earrings, as my native country share borders with Bulgaria.. and it is a nice coincidence that my daughter's zodiac sign is Cancer.. but I don't think she'll want the bracelet, it's not "cool" enough for her.. ;);)

Yes, it does. And your country has some Slavic influence. And it has had its share of issues with the Ottoman Turks as well.

But the crab does not figure in the Chinese astrological system. So, made for export? Or some other meaning altogether? There is a character with it, too bad we are not likely to find out what it is. It's really curious to me that the crab design is only on the inside. Maybe it was efficient to make plaquettes with designs on both sides, then set them either way out or alternating to create several different looks. Well, I think it's cool. :)

yes,i also thinking about the crab,:angelic::angelic:..the word in crab bracelets it looks like Tian or Sky Or heaven 天 but i don't know the word in bracelet is just a similar word or tian word made with unskillful technique so the maker can't make a perfect tian word:facepalm:..talking about the crab,i do know crab figure was using intensely during qing dynasty, probably in 18-19th century,it was use in some porcelain as decoration, but this bracelet definitely not that old

    here's some example

    https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/48396

so,imho i don't think the crab has correlation with western astrological since it also have tian mark word in it,maybe the chinese just choose the crab for fun,:hilarious:

Does the crab symbolize anything, or is it associated with some positive quality? Or, as you say, just for fun, because they like it the way I do.

Very, and far from the truth. Sellers tend to call anything with cannetille or applied filigree Etruscan Revival.
Etruscan Revival is a very specific style, and very few pieces are genuine Etruscan Revival.
