But it is gorgeous. It is a dress watch, who cares about time when they're having fun.
It will probably run better after a good clean by someone who knows how to handle old watches.

I do think that isn't the original strap. I've a watch bought new in the early 90s which has an identical cord one. That looks too new and a bit out of keeping. Either that or the cord has been replaced.

 

It would be nice if you could photograph the works. Are those diamonds? Suspect that the band is a replacement. Also, the sapphire is not original to the watch. Doesn't match the diamonds (?) or platinum. Lots of watches of the 20's and 30's used sapphire crowns. They were either glass or man made and cheap. Nice watch and band but the crown just doesn't work.

Great. Seventeen jewels with 2 adjustments and temp. adj. makes it a pretty nice movement which goes with the platinum. I'm 99% sure that those are diamonds. I'd get it cleaned and adjusted and wear it. Never mind the crown for now.
