I have finally cleaned out my Mom’s desk. She passed away in 2015. Better late than never, eh? Anyway, have made some awful photos of stuff that has no sentimental value to me, but I did get out the magnifying glass to see marks and names. If I don’t mention it, is isn’t marked.

Bracelet and earring set — Siam Sterling
Bow brooch with marcasites and blue stone — Avon
Engraved oval silver brooch — Sterling and a “B” in a hexagon outline.
    Rhinestone earrings — Triad

    Gold rope bracelet — 10K
Gold tone twist necklace — PAT 417

The marcasite and blue paste brooch looks old to me. I like the abalone/onyx pinwheel brooch. I have a similar one that is Taxco sterling silver.

I suspect that swirl brooch is Mexican alpaca.

The 10k gold bracelet is quite light. I was wondering if it’s gold or rolled gold, but it’s marked simply 10k.

The Mexican one is not marked, so I think OBB is right that it could be alpaca. Pretty thing, anyway.

The marcasite and paste brooch is an Avon production, but yes, and older vintage. When did Avon start selling jewellery? The 1960s?

I rather like alpaca stuff: that one is like one I own.

DINNER! I have to admit that one's my favorite.

It's probably solid. Not worth a ton, but solid. The Avon piece ... hard to say without seeing the back. It could be 80s "revival" jewelry since I don't think they started mass-producing and selling jewelry to the public until the early 70s.

I'm curious about that round pendant next to the blue beads. It's flipped backwards in the photo. Cameo? Are there marks on the round clip-on earrings?
