    Hey @Vonniexx!
I have seen this ring before......! (on PS)

    And it's beautiful!
There is so much great jewelry knowledge here!
It's an Old European cut. The 7mm size makes it about 1.3-1.4 carats.
I have a 1.23 ct. that measures 6.9mm across, so I'm using that as a gauge.
Old European cuts are deep with small tables and high crowns.

It looks too "perfect" - like a CZ. I think it must be a very good quality diamond.
Thanks, Komo and yes that could make a big difference in size, I have always heard that referred to as a "spready" diamond (by my jewelers).

I am going to guess that the stone, as a real diamond, is 1.6 carats in size. It's just a guess. @Vonniexx , would you please return to tell us about the size and quality, when you have it assessed by someone in the joolz biz? :joyful:

I watched your video again, it actually does look like a spready diamond to me. I still think it's over a carat. There is certainly no shame to be found in this one! It's a gorgeous ring.

Edit - what are those birds? in the background? noisy! ;)

I am trying to identify the makers mark: "G", 2 crossed swords, "S"

If yes, then the maker/orfèvre was Georges Salt

    No problem at all !!
I had an old european cut diamond solitaire before and it was supposedly 1.09 carats and the measurements were 6mm length, 6mm width , and 4mm depth,so not sure about the carats.

The measurements of this current stone is 7mm length, width 7mm and depth 4mm. What ever that means lol. Aaah the birds!! Lol, we have a small woodland beside our house and heron like to nest on the tree tops, very noisy! Lol

The stone looks very white and firey but I do see some imperfections in the stone. I will get picks soon x

We always thought it was just 1 carat, can you measure from top of your 1.23 diamond to the bottom where cutlet would be please?

Mine is 6.9mm at the girdle, and I just measured it at 3.8mm deep.
If yours is slightly bigger, at 7mm at the girdle, and 4mm in depth, then I think maybe add 8-10 points. So 1.30-35 or so? Just a guess!

Wow , that's a nice wee surprise, as always thought it was 1 carat.
Was thinking of maybe resetting it or lowering the setting. Not sure if i should mess with it .

Wear it for while and see if you like the high setting. If not, maybe replace the diamond with a colored stone and re-set the OEC diamond into something you love.
