Featured Chinese pottery duck

Hi all,I picked this up because I thought it was a little more nicely done than many Ive seen. I try to stay away from oriental,as its a mine field ! It just really attracted me and it was $3 . Im trying to pin an age on it,so any input is appreciated.


Sorry about the crappy pic,for some reason my camera just wont focus on white on white.

 

Tip. If trying to focus on white, put a small thing like a matchstick on the white. Focus on that, remove thing, take photo.

I think duckie is 1930s or so from the stlye of the script and the cartouche. I'd have bought him.

I have this mud duck in green. Agree about 1930s.

I don't like mine.
Had him on a top shelf and one day he decided to take a dive. Landed in my quilted Amberina tumbler and knocked a hole out of the side. So decided he couldn't live in my house anymore. Took him to the store and priced him around $20. He's still sitting there several years later. I've even lowered the price a few times.
Some things just have bad karma.

Hope yours turns out to be a nice duck.
