Featured Another Storage Find,Vintage Chinese/Japanese Vase

    Another storage find,I'm not sure if this is a vintage vase or not.Octagon shaped at the top,lined with brass top and bottom..Has some type of oriented writing.Measure about 8.5" tall.No marks. SAM_0515.JPG SAM_0515.JPG SAM_0516.JPG SAM_0517.JPG

    It's Chinese seal script INH ....old style ...oh and cloisonne

    Yes that writing is not Korean, unless you're talking before Hanja was developed and thats going back over 400 years. Its interesting though, there are a few Korean elements in there but Korean came out of Chinese anyway, so perhaps not surprising.

    It is beautiful, antiques. And yes, cloisonné enamel. Cloisonné is when very thin wires are soldered on to the metal base and filled with enamel.
    Do you have something similar, Cynthia?

    Chinese decorative cloisonne, modern arts and crafts piece, writing is zhuanshu/seal script. Korean writing borrowed elements of Chinese writing to create its system.
