To begin with I thought these were plastic but now I'm wondering if the plain beads are jet as they are light, have that slightly plastic feel but chink like glass. The patterned ones have the same characteristics.
Thoughts on age please or alternatives if not jet?.
The clasp is possibly a red herring as they have been restrung badly on wire which has kinked them.
    Thanks for looking :)

I am glad that mystery is solved as I've just spent a few hours considering if I had completely lost my marbles. I even worriedly did a search of my posts :hilarious:.
Although they look likely candidates and it would be great if they are I'm not completely convinced Neiger as they are lightweight and not the weighty Czech glass I'd expect?.Wonder if they are looky-likey?. I may have to be brave and post them on the Neiger site to see what they say.
That's funny as I even looked through your posts to see if it was in there and couldn't see it before deciding I probably was crazy

You're a joolie, you must be crazy anyway.:joyful::kiss:

All these gorgeous black possible Neiger beads remind me of an old necklace with black glass beads with goldtone details that I have somewhere. Not as nice as the two of you have, but very sweet. If I find it, I'll post it.

Here it is.:) A lot of the gold colour has worn off, and some gold lines actually have verdigris as well.
It is a bit of a surprise, because it is a Tuareg necklace. Tuareg necklaces usually have a big silver(tone) pendant, but this one has a simple row of beads instead:

The Tuareg have been using black Czech beads for quite some time, but this is the only necklace I know with these molded beads with goldtone accents as focal beads.
I don't know if these beads could have been made by the manufacturer who worked for Neiger, but it would be interesting to find out.

So you get an idea, this is the usual Tuareg style, the black beads are also Czech glass:

Unfortunately I can't hear the word Tuareg without thinking of the 80s Barclaycard advert with Rowan Atkinson where he sets fire to his rug.
