Only 20 of the 200 were made with 3 bees. The rest had 4

Nice! In every way. Four bees makes the swarm look larger, but only 20 3-bee versions? Whoohoo!

I know in most limited edition items the earlier the edition number the more desirable. At # 4 I would assume your paperweight would command a higher premium. Plus your's is one of only 20 made with 3 bees. Better Yet! Congratulations on a great purchase!
The auction catalogue above (page 58) lists an estimate of $1500 to $2000 for that weight. I would not be surprised if your's would go above that.

The text says it has 'a quartet' of bees, so it has 4.

I'm not doin' math this early on a Sunday morning. Worthpoint weight is #189 of a limited edition of 200. Jingyel's weight is # 4 of 200. My guess is they made some with 3 bees & found it did not give a real swarm effect, worked out the optics for where to place 4 bees, really adding to the number that seem to be there.

Yes, this is a 3-bee model. If the information we have seen is correct, much rarer than the 4-bee ones.

Just looked up the Worthpoint page & saw that's how it's titled. It's early Sunday morning & evidently I'm not doing reading either.
