    I am pretty excited about this find for $4. They have hallmarks for Austria Hungary 800 silver. There appears to be a maker's mark of a JH but I couldnt find any info online. They appear to be a set of 6 cups with glass inserts. Two of them are missing the glass, but what are they called exactly? What were they used for? Also, what would you date these? The mark was used from 1872-1922. Finally, the glass is very weird! It has this weird ripple effect of the inside of them. One cup weighs 152 grams!!

    If you are talking about the parallel lines, the glass isn't rippled. Usually referred to as panels.

    I think they are after dinner coffee cups. But wait for others to confirm.

    The initials appear to be "L A"

    The head mark contains a 3 which is just what was in the 800 mark and an A for Vienna, no date codes on it unfortunately.

    These are for hot tea, usually with lemon in cups like this. Russian style tea!

    @spartcom5 paid $4.00 for them so for sure they are worth at least $4.00, right? I'd even have considered them if they cost a bit more - maybe even $5?:D

    .800 silver @ 152 gram per cup X 6 cups = 912 Grams = 23.4572 Oz pure silver @ 24.47 spot price = 574.00 melt give or take refining fees. Not a bad return :cigar::cigar::cigar:
