    Hi everyone,

If you're tired of me posting, I apologize in advance. I have been waiting patiently for something to arrive in the mail (it was lost for 15 days even though it was shipped priority mail). I'll post more details tonight, but here's the basics:

    1. This was completely a feel purchase as I had no marks to go off based on the original photos. As always, I get things wrong, but this one was worth the gamble. The back of the piece was what really sold me on the purchase.

    2. I love the tiny marks. I've figured out the origin and purity, perhaps some of our newer members want to give the research a shot?

Total weight in the last picture......whew given the current price of silver this one is A-OKAY!

I completely understand the emotion. I feel the same way when I see other beautiful items. I know I should never ever ever feel jealous about other silver but it happens...

WOOT WOOT WOOT! Polish 800 silver made after WWI is all I've got on the mark. It has the 3 and the lady's head. I'm not good at silver marks, but it's all over their jewelry.

Poles MARK the stuff, and they're not as nutso about hiding it as the French and Portuguese. I'm wondering if that tray didn't serve as the Challah plate for some family who bailed out of Poland before the Nazis got there.

Yeah well. We 'murricans don't see much Dutch silver, and we don't blame honest Dutch people for things their silversmiths do.:kiss::kiss:

A Challah platter is a good possibility, or maybe a plate for a whole fish.
