How do you restore damaged enamel?

Thanks kyra, great job, I wish I had known that last year. I saw a gorgeous 19th century Norwegian enameled Sølje brooch, which I decided not to bid on because of the enamel loss.:(
What would you do with translucent enamel?

    Ha... It depends too...
After different tries, I use Judy Kins Diamond Glaze, and permanent markers
I'll leave it to you to explore my "kyratisations" page on CW, for many exemples, plique à jour, satin finish...:bookworm::cool::)

I love to hunt for wounded pieces, they are usually affordable, and it is so rewarding to bring them to life!

I encourage you to get some cheap pieces and practize the repair methods, so you won't fear to ruin them :joyful:

    Hi Book and Kyratango,
Beautiful pin!!!! Nice job Kyratango on your repairs. I am totally blown away. I used to try and repair using little bottles of porcelain repair ( for chipped enamel on sinks) and nail polish for coloring. Alas not as nice as yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mikey - the one in your link is spectacular!!! Thanks.

Ruth - the one in your link is very similar to mine. Thanks!

Kyratango - you do beautiful work. It looks like it could be fun to try. I think I'll sell this one as is, however. :)

    Thanks Gregsglass :shame:
Secret is to use translucent colors and clear nailpolish or top coat;)
Paint or opaque enamel don't allow subtile details...

So, I finally brought this to my jeweler. He confirmed that it is 18K gold and that they are rose cut diamonds. I also finally weighed it - 7 grams.

My question - what should I start it at on ebay? I am very grateful for the help and advice you all give me. :)
