I picked up this lovely Robert Klein slide bracelet with each of the individual pieces appropriately marked 14k kljci, except the center stone which shows an unrecognizeable mark. Any ideas? Is this a "cheaper" piece?

Photos could use a little clarity, but you have the maker's name which helps. This is a fairly valuable bracelet --that's a lot of gold. Can't say I recognize the mark on the one link that is different, but if you can't find the maker you might want to have it tested, guessing it is gold as well.

There are a few Robert Klein bracelets as well as individual charms for sale on Ebay. Nice find.

Looks like sapphire and emeralds in there, as well as some diamonds but would appreciate some expertise on the stones. More detailed photos attached. Sorry but I cannot capture a clear mark on the center slide.

I am guessing that they will match up with specifications referenced in this vast listing of Robert Klein sliders. http://www.slidebracelet.com/store/c/941-R-Klein-Slide-Bracelets.aspx I just need to find the right combination and being color blind, this can be challenging :bag:

Anyjewelry and other resident experts... Would you agree that I should test the gem stones?

The stones are too out of focus to tell anything except red, blue, green, golden and white.

Sorry komo. I respect your opinion a great deal and you have assisted me greatly on various issues here.

I was just hoping to avoid this extra work.....lazy, I guess!

Wow, just opened the link. A lot of Robert Klein sliders out there.

I'm not familiar with Robert Klein jewelry -- but since the least expensive single slider in the link above retails for $455, up to $890 for the most, I think you can assume that all yours are all precious stones. You have the one single slider with a different mark, that will need to be researched.

To give a full description if selling, would be nice to know what is what. Maybe you can go into a jewelry store and see if they can help, but go in with the knowledge that these are almost certainly all precious or semi-precious stones.

    Was this a family piece?

Crazy, how many sliders are referenced, lucille! I actually purchased it at an auction where they did not even mention the mark. I love those auctions!

Not looking to sell but rather to more fully understand what I have. Anyjewelry was very helpful to me as the item went up for bid but now that I have it in hand......

Well I think you made a good purchase. Seems like this maker has a following, and the materials used are fairly high end.

It is nearly impossible to ID stones like this just from photos. Sometimes with an antique setting one might say, "probably a garnet or ruby" because that is what was used during that time in history. But this is a newer piece so all bets are off, and photos above would need to be clearer even to make an educated guess.

Maybe best to consult a jeweler for an in-hand inspection. Sometimes they charge for such things, but if you have a friendly local person, they might just look at it. Be sure to say you "don't need an appraisal" and "just curious what the stones might be" or something along those lines. Nothing written in other words. They might take a look without charging. Best of luck.

I know that the consignor identified that sapphire, emeralds, amethyst and diamonds (this one i could figure out!) were purchased for his wife.

But, yes, I will try to make friends with a jeweler.....maybe I should approach it with the idea of purchasing another slide!

;) Screw that...it's always better just to be honest !
But...walk in with the credible knowledge that these are indeed most likely the stones that you've mentioned !!
    They sure look legit !!

Oh...& thanks for the kind words.....U no I was just goofing around !!!!:playful::playful:

Sorry, Danno, I completely missed this one. Thank you for the prestigious title, but I am not an expert, just someone who loves precious stones and metals, and learns all the time.
I think this is a wonderful buy.
The photos are a bit blurred, so I can't verify anything on the stones. But I have no reason at all to believe these are not gemstones, since this is a Robert Klein bracelet and every part is marked as such, except for the central slide charm.
The central one is likely to be high quality as well, albeit without the famous name. It is like Pandora bracelets, the none-Pandora beads are usually good quality, just not made for/by Pandora.
Danno, you clearly recognize quality. If you want to invest in jewellery, I can recommend you buy testing equipment, here is an interesting thread on that:

Best to read the entire thread, and never put testing liquid directly on precious metal, it is all explained.

Thanks Anyjewelry! I am not looking to be very active in the jewelry market but I remember saying that about dolls, comic books, coins, antique books, etc

I do however appreciate the reference material and as a lifetime learner, I am always seeking an education!

Hopefully, you can tolerate my occasional ignorance!

Thank you again for the insight and assistance!

Danno, occasional ignorance is something we all know, we're only human and it is impossible to know everything.

That bracelet is built out of just none short of breathtaking slider charms. Hold on to this treasure! Many congrats on winning it at auction.
