    Picked this up at G/W this morning. painting measures 8 1/2" x 12"

    Found this on artnet about him and his highest price for a painting of his

    Hans J. Peeters is an American Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1937. Hans J. Peeters's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $225 USD to $1,375 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2008 the record price for this artist at auction is $1,375 USD for Cheetahs, sold at Bonhams San Francisco in 2011.

    I'd say so! Signature looks like a match. Several hundred dollars. Nice pick!

    As long as it's an original and not a print. I can't tell from the pictures? If you look closely and can see dimensional brushstrokes then it's the real deal. Some giclee prints look real so you have to be careful.

    Was surprised to see this. My brother has some of his paintings on his wall. He was a fellow falconer and knew the artist. Nice find.

    This is an original painting for a book plate. California mammals. I'm just a little excited now lol

    He did tell me all about the book and there is one on ebay. You think it's a good idea to have the book with the painting. Adds to provenance?

    Provenance is the history of former ownership, which only adds to value if your painting was once owned by someone famous or part of a famous museum collection etc.
