    Very atmospheric, I like it

    Any chance of a better picture of it in full

    Know it's hard with watercolours because of the glass, sometimes better to picture at a slight angle not head on

    Regarding the writing. The person is asking if George Wallis is related to artist Henry Wallis who painted the Death of Chatterton, which might be in the Tate Gallery. Who knows if they are related, research for you to do!

    Here's another watercolor of a similar scene painted nearby (on Thistle Grove) by the Victorian painter William Cowen.

    I love night scenes ,but rarely do they come off as atmospheric as this one. Usually they are just dark !

    Probably due to "the Narnian lamposts" as they're described in Cowen's painting.

    It looks like the Wallis artist scratched the watercolor paint off of the surface while slightly damp, making the white "lines" of light. In lieu of this, the second example of white street lights - is a method of blocking the color out and blotting. Both successful.

    Something may have been obliterated or altered digitally from the sky in Debora's post above..
