Featured Baskets anyone ?

oh crap i got rid of all of my like baskets at old garage sales because I thought they were nothing and here they are, following, thanks!

I use ones like the 2 on the far right - for trash baskets in Hawaii, very common there, probably from china.

The oval one was once my cat's bed, the one diagonally off to the lower left of that - was for my office supplies. Think these are pretty much all functional baskets.

 

I'd take the large tall lidded rectangular....need a new hamper!!! On second thought... don't think I could handle the shipping

 

The picnic basket and gathering basket next to each other on the front row are rather nice..

 

Appear to be mostly modern imports but agree re picnic baskets.

I don't know about how old or new they are but wicker, bamboo and rattan are hot decorating items now. I have sold many this past spring and summer, most were paper plate holders. Some are using them to decorate their walls, some to hold onto paper plates for dining, some to store stuff like plants, towels you name it.

I should clarify, it seems to be a trend in the USA, perhaps not elsewhere.

 

That pic-a-nic basket and the "gathering" basket could have some age on them. The rest were doing their jobs holding the crockery.

 

Everyone loves baskets. Can't have too many. I'd think a desirable lot.

the taller ones were used for freshly washed linen being transported.
the paper baskets are still used on the continent; the more so because people started to realize that a good old one from Grampa holds an eternity, contrary to that cheap f***ing plastic stuff that either breaks due to aging or to a good kick in a bad moment.
