This blanket, or throw, is 52" by 72", minus the fringes.
    There is no label.
I am wondering if anyone knows who might have made it?
I am also wondering if someone shrunk it? It has that oops I put your wool sweater through the wash look.

Looks like a later spin off (yours is defo 20thC), of a Jacquard coverlet which were all the rage in post Industrial 19thC America. They're made from cotton and will totally shrink if washed in hot water.

    Thank you Modest Muse.

This one is definitely wool. I just did a burn test.

Being shades of red, I am shocked the colors didn't run if it was washed. Red is the worst!

Ok, must be a higher quality coverlet. They were traditionally woven in a combination of wool and cotton (one for weft, one for warp). Washing this in cold and blocking as best as you can will help return it to its' former glory.

Red is a bad one but good textiles were often colourfasted with salt and vinegar. Works like a charm!

I haven't done that in a kajillion years, but it sure used to. Red bleeds like you left a lipstick in its pocket otherwise. I was going to say that boiling the wool was a common practice at one point too, to shrink it before it was woven.

Sorry, but "boiled wool" was (and is) a method of fulling/felting a finished fabric - not a treatment for fibers prior to weaving.

I agree with @Modest Muse that the blanket is fairly recent. Neither the color or the design look vintage or antique.
