EBTH used to be very accurate in checking and describing items. The last 4 items purchased, were significantly and obviously broken in several spots but marked "Condition: Good" precluding any type of gifting or resale. Customer service is not at all helpful, and really not very nice at all! Just lost total trust in this company! I will be closing my account.

I am a stuff person. I like cool and unique stuff. This is an ESTATE SALE Company and I am a fan. I have purchased art (cheap and expensive), furniture, sports memorabilia, and WWII items among other things from this site. I would like to explain my experience because this company is amazing. I don't even bother with traditional Estate Sales. I SPEND TOO MUCH!!! Always something new and new markets seem to be added regularly. (Would love to see a list of coming soon markets).

Some cool things about the site:
    1) You can't lose a item because someone snipes the bid at the last minute like other auction sites. The site gives you a chance by extending the time by 5 minutes; like a live auction
    2) Shipping can be pricey but the calculator is there to avoid surprises. I was going to pay $600 to ship a piece from Texas. But I was willing to pay $800 plus shipping. It was a $5000 item. (sometimes shipping is a bit slow) I love that I can shop estate sales all over the country!
    3) The descriptions and photos are amazing. The pictures even show the defects.
I would suggest, read the FAQ's. This is a second hand market site. EBTH sells estate items. This is not a big box .com retailer.
    4) There new distribution center model is incredible... lower shipping!

I have many friends that love this site and I am glad they introduced me. No idea where these reviews are coming from.

WARNING: HIDDEN FEES. EBTH will charge you an additional $30.00 PER ITEM for picking it up yourself at a warehouse. Three items adds almost $100.00 to your total for using your own time/gas/vehicle to pick it up. This trend is increasing with EBTH as they add more and more fees to the buyer. The warehouse fee USED to be paid by the seller as it is their choice to use their home or a warehouse. Why the sudden change to stick it to the buyers? Every time I look at something there is an additional fee for pickup, an outrageous fee for shipping and it can be 6 months before I receive something you ship to me! Items in my home state are shipped to OHIO to a warehouse, which increases what you charge for shipping. You have TWO warehouses around the Nashville area. Why should I pay you to take the item from Tennessee to Ohio so I can pay from Ohio to Tennessee? A little common sense please.

I find this site after getting burned by them as a seller and searching to see if others had similar experiences. I used EBTH for my father's estate and it's been a nightmare.

They said his estate would be a featured sale because the story if him and his stuff is so interesting. Not only is it not a featured sale, but it's literally not even listed on the home page. You can't find the sale at all unless you search for one of the items specifically.

The shipping costs are way higher than they should be, and the items are listed with no reserve, so you end up with lots of things selling for $1 and $50 shipping--of which I as a seller only get a percentage of the $1.
That's an old school eBay style scam right there.

They also grouped together lots of heavy things like records, into lots with no rhyme or reason. There are lots of 75 records, with photos if only a few of them and no listing as to what records are in the lot. Of course no one's going to spend a lot of money when they don't know what's in it! I would have gotten more just by dropping them off at a record shop. For 500 records, mostly classical music and original classic rock from 60s and 70s, I'll get about $5 total.

They also took an item that wasn't supposed to be included in the sale, but never sent me an inventory until the day before the sale was to go live. When I mentioned that item want for sale and asked them to hold it back but I would pay for the shipping to return it to me, they refused to hold it back. (A set of drinking glasses that were my grandfather's). The glasses went live for sale the next day, and they told me if I wanted them I should bid on them myself and win the auction.

I'll end up spending more to buy my own Damn glasses back than on the whole rest of the sale because somehow they're the highest priced item right now. Magically.

Many incorrect descriptions and listings posted with only some of the parts (the base of a table is listed as a heavy "book stand", but the marble table top is missing, with no listing. We noticed them a day ago and still no correction, same with other pieces.

Because their contract says you can't have anything back on once they take it for sale, even if it doesn't sell, it's actually in their best interests to mess up the sale when it ends, and then keep the items for themselves. I am also seeing, by looking at other sales with a critical eye), that since there's no reserve on anything, people are just bidding $1 on all of it so it "sells", but no real money goes to the estate owner. BETH must be making all of their profit on the shipping, but I see none of that.

There are quite a few 14-place setting antique China sets with over 100 pieces each including rare hard to find items that my dad himself bought at auction houses to complete the sets... Each piece is worth a few dollars and in some cases tens to a hundred dollars or more... But all hundred something pieces in the sets are being sold in one lot for each set--for pennies. We are getting completely screwed.

I wish I'd just consigned with a local shop, or used someone local. I feel completely scammed.

I just made my first purchase from EBTH, and it was great! I got 6 Wedgwood pieces for $50. The shipping was $18, but I got a $10 off code for having someone sign up. So I paid about $10 per piece, which is great considering the ages of some of the pieces! I'll admit their customer service was a bit slow in getting back to me when I had a question on one of the pieces (in fact, they didn't get back to me until AFTER I won the auction!), but, to be fair, I e-mailed the wrong location. They have several around the country, and my autofill chose the one in my town when my items were in Cincinnati. They also took a little longer to ship than I'd hoped, but they arrived safe and sound, packaged to the nines. Granted, I didn't buy any enormous pieces that required high shipping fees or a pickup, but my small purchase turned out quite well. I definitely plan on trying it again!

I do believe that they started in Cincinnati, so that location probably has more experience than the other locations - they sort of run on the franchise model, so the people who run the other locations may be retired school teachers, or former sump pump maintenance people, or who knows...............

Bidder Beware! I bought a Waterford lamp. It arrived with no harp and no shade! When I contacted EBTH and told them the photos didn't show that it was being sold without all the components, they agreed! The item description made no mention of this either and stated the condition was "Good". They charged $157 to ship a painting that I paid $57 for. Outrageous charge so I disputed it and told them I no longer wanted the piece. They charged my credit card for the painting and shipping without my approval. Very shady company

Make sure you have read all the details of the sale shipping can be ridicules and can take forever. They have lost two paintings I have bought from them and customer service was a waste of time I did get my money back but thought I should be compensated for the real value of painting not what I payed through them because once I payed the value changes and they lost it they should pay up.

AVOID!!! This is a bunch of millennials that despite their claims to "carefully package and prep the items for travel" could care less about how the items you've bid on and won arrive at your home. Shamefully they are selling some precious high end designers pieces and antiques. And when they arrive damaged because THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE OR REQUEST PROPER PACKING their response is "well, shit happens" when you're shipping "tens of thousands of pieces". Bottom line: shitty customer service, really shitty attitude and they couldn't care less how your items arrive. Kudos to places like Viyet, Chairish and EBay that go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.

EBTH.com is pretty good deal for me. Ever done several shipments and works like a charm. If you think it is expensive you can use coupon. I usually check

These EBTH people are sociopaths and thieves. I sent in boxes of beautiful merchandise and they took numerous items out and claimed they were not authentic which was an outright lie. They say if you want your merchandise back you have to pay for return shipping which is outrageously high or they will donate it to Goodwill which is code for keeping it for themselves. Even if they donated it to Goodwill{which I doubt}they would be getting the tax write off. The last sale I unfortunately participated in with them, they kept 50%. They try to have a veneer of charm about them probably in an attempt to keep their victim from calling the law on them. I do not live in Ohio but I do plan to call the AG about them as well as the BBB. I think other victims have done this as well. These people need to be put out of business. I wonder if they have some kind of mafia connection because they almost make Bernie Madoff look like a choir boy. Please, I hope to warn all NOT TO DO BUSINESS with these narcissists. Also, one reviewer equated EBTH with EBAY. Ebay is legitimate and there can be no positive comparison between the two. Ebth is beyond salvation.
