Good lord! $3.75 per baggie? :woot:

The last pic is Gorham. The second pic needs a closer look at the mark to the left of "sterling" but I'm leaning toward Whiting Manufacturing. (The other name "Elias Baker" would have been the retailer.)

Yes, $7 total and a lot of weight in there.

Can you edit the title to change "starling" to "sterling" ?

In the third pic, the oval shaped ends are probably in the "Olive" pattern or a variant thereof.

And the long spoon next to them looks like the "Columbia" pattern associated with the Columbian Exposition of the 1890's - that one will be plated and marked with 1847 Rogers or one of their related tradenames.

I wish my local senior center thrift would make up some baggies of stuff like that, but all they have lately is plated junk at outrageous prices. They have a large set of French flatware in proper storage box that has been sitting in the glass case at the register FOREVER! Originally priced at $950, recently (like 3 months ago?) slashed to $500. This is NOT the right neighborhood for that kind of price. I suspect, since there is never any sterling out for sale, that they just walk it 2 doors down to the "coin and precious metals" dealer for quick cash.

They are all Chantilly with variations in the markings. Have not counted the pieces yet. Everything withouth the knives is about 4 pounds and 2 ounces. The knives weight about 1 pound and 14 ounces but they are stainless blade and the handles probably hollow.
There are also 6 spoons with the Baker mark. Don't know who the maker is.

That's Whiting Manufacturing (with Baker as the retailer.)

Are the spoons in the 4th picture the ones "with the Baker mark" you mentioned?

Well, that must be a pattern that didn't last long (and perhaps was not patented.) They used that general shape with different details for several patterns, but this one isn't in the sterlingflatwarefashions section on Whiting Mfg. Nor is a picture like this shown in the "identification/information wanted" list for them. If I find it somewhere else, I'll let you know.

Chantilly was a very popular pattern. I believe is still being made today.
You might do well selling pieces on ebay.
Anything unusual in serving pieces or are they all place setting pieces?

And it was re-issued in 1950. Note that Replacements list of Chantilly flatware distinguishes between the "original mark" and the 1950 mark. There may very well be size changes to the various pieces as well.

I was collecting (for myself) additional place settings for my Gorham Invitation flatware - originally issued in 1940. Imagine my dismay, when I bought some online and the lengths of the place pieces were significantly shorter than what I already had. Seems they had reissued the pattern in the 80's and "modernized" the lengths.
