Hello my board buddies! At first I thought this was an unsigned studio piece but now I think maybe it was a production piece. It stands about 4 1/2" tall and looks like a quality piece but for all I know it could be Chinese. It has a alligatored pattern in the glass. The outside of the vase is not completely smooth. It's like there is a much smaller alligator pattern on the exterior. Modern Portugal perhaps? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Maltese or at a push, Isle of Wight. It might be Mtarfa or Phoenician: I don't think Mdina or MDG, the base is wrong.

Thank you very much, owned! I just did a little research and it certainly looks Maltese. Will dig around a little more. I didn't even know they did art glass on Malta. Very much appreciated!

Google on Michael Harris, Mdina Glass, Isle of Wight and Kerry Glass - it's fascinating. There's some lovely stuff made on Malta.
