Featured Anyone konw who made this opalescent glass jar? "lantern form"

    A blue-ish opalescent lidded jar in the form of a lantern, anyone know the maker? 5-1/2" tall & 3" diameter.

    Hi,
    I know the manufacturer. My kind is drawing a blank until I check my books.
    It is Nautical by Duncan & Miller late 1930s. I think it is the candy jar. It is an older one since it has the glass lid. The opalescent like yours is very rare and valuable I think the last one I saw for sale was 625 dollars. it is the Elegant Glassware from the Depression. A really nice piece and rarely seen.

    So mine is only 5-1/2", the only other two I saw were vaseline color and 9" tall. Is mine still considered a candy jar?

    Hi,
    I read that the 9" ones were decanters for liquor. The were often mistaken for candy jars. They are skinnier and taller than the candy jar.
