Featured Do you recognize this women?

I did a reverse image search on Google without any luck. It looks so familiar.

 

Is this a painting or a print? I think you are recognizing a type rather than an individual. If I add in a bunch of red, it looks like this:

It is a print. I think it's from the 1930's or 40's based on the frame. Your addition of red, looks more like it looks in person. Thank you. I have a new camera that I need to reset it to factory default and start again. It won't white balance. I think I may have pushed a button to lock it but I can't figure it out.

 

If it's a truer image, I'll leave it.

I don't recognize that style of collar, can't put a period to it. I would say that the hair looks 18th C, but the dress looks 19th.

If it's a print, there must be a painting, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's online.

It really wouldn't surprise me if the painting was from the '30s.

 

I'd best bet it as 1930s too. The hair is 18th century but the collar is 17th century-inspired. The dress looks 20th.

That thing in her hair is called a "tiara comb"? I see them in some regency portraits, which is a period this might be (or might be emulating).

 

Thank you for the replies. Maybe it is the "type" that looks familiar or maybe I saw this in her home when I was younger and that's why it has a familiarity.

 

I think might more accurately be called a "diadem comb" because of shape. More curve, less crown. Certainly Regency. (Hair style Georgian.)

A historical mix. And the jewellery is 19th-20th century.

 

I didn't know if it really was supposed to be 'these' or 'woman'.
