Being a a language girl, I was tickled by this:

They share a cruciform design consisting of an equal-armed cross with expanded terminals and circular 'arm-pits'

It’s a stamped out brass brooch, haven’t cleaned it up yet, not likely the Museum will be interested in this piece:)

Did you post this one before? I know we've had it.

Yes SIS, it was you who found out it wasn’t a spaceship reference at all but was a caltrap/caltrop. I’ve already told the Museum that and I think it likely a livery button from local landowners the Calthorpes.
It caused quite a lot of fun at the time on the forum as just mentioning that ‘Area’ and spaceships gets the bots going!

Bit of an alphabet soup, but down to earth with ‘flowerpot’ :)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It reminded me of one that I have. Not the same design of the setting, but it has a middle circular area with a glass gem set in the middle. Attached are two pictures. The front came out blurry, but I hope you can see the similarity.

    Here’s better pics, it’s a bit squashed.

Interesting. Yours has what looks like a round pearly bead on one side. I don't see a place for one on the other side. Most pieces in a shape like that would probably have one on each side, for a balanced look.
