I too wasted time and gasoline today. Went to a thrift shop that is only open on Sundays. I always know when I go there to be prepared for a very messy store and many trips around the aisles as there is stuff all over the place.

The fella that runs it is a nice guy, but the store is overstuffed with things he gets for free as a clean out service. Some have not moved since he opened the store 5 years ago, some are things no one will be buying. Nothing in the store is marked with a price.

Anyway, only thing I spotted was some Cathrineholm items. But they had some damage and he wanted way to much. Some things he will negotiate on, but not these.

It was good to get out of the house after the snow and feel the sun on my face though.Oh and then I stopped at a moving sale that was on the way back.
    More bupkis.
    :(

Stuff from estate clean-outs goes one of two ways, serious loot and stuff no one else wanted. It sounds like this guy gets the latter after someone else gets the loot.

Was very happy this purchase at 4 dollars. Saw it straight away at the local thrift shop ( I'm saying thrift now I'm getting Americanized:nailbiting:)
Looks like ivory couldn't make out engraving at first 15190209038594.jpg 15190209038233.jpg but was stoked to see an intricate Dragon design so that made my day.

I'd call that wee green jug a flagon. I can't remember for the life of me which potter that is and I do know.

Here's my find. A while back I bought a very nice designer wallet from a car boot sale. This is about three years ago, from memory.

Put it away till yesterday, got it out as I was looking for something else. It felt oddly fat. I don't recall it feeling fat when I bought it, but hey, it was boxed, and unused, so I just tucked it away.

    Guess what the fatness was?

Twenty and ten pound notes. £240 in total.

Wich leads to a very stupid question, but is old money still in circulation since yall have the euro?

We're not in the euro. ;) The two ten pound notes went out of date a few months back but the banks still take them. The twenties are fine.

Nice buy on that wallet, Bear! I bought one of those jars today at the thrift. I'd show what I found, but there's no real point. The best piece might be a tiny EAPG purpled glass. Probably an individual cream jug or some such. It cost a dollar. ...and wasn't in the jar.
